The Devil Deals in Euphemism

Euphemism is the playground of the Devil.

The devil never announces himself. He does not enter the room hissing, “I am evil.” He walks in with a smile and calls himself Progress. Evil rarely appears draped in its true colors; it hides in words that sound noble, compassionate, and enlightened. The serpent in Eden did not command Eve to rebel; he asked a question. So too, in our modern political life, the smoothest deceptions arrive not through argument, but through redefinition.

And nowhere is this more refined—more serpentine—than in the rhetoric of the Democratic Party.

The Left has mastered the art of moral camouflage. They don’t kill babies—they support reproductive rights. They don’t promote racism—they advocate for equity. They don’t censor—they fight disinformation. They don’t mutilate children—they affirm gender identity. Every act of moral inversion is wrapped in a phrase that sounds too kind to oppose.

This is not mere political spin—it’s a spiritual war on meaning. The purpose of language is to reveal truth; the purpose of euphemism is to conceal it. Orwell saw it plainly when he wrote that “political language is designed to make lies sound truthful and murder respectable.” The modern Left has perfected this craft beyond anything Orwell could have imagined.

When sin is renamed as virtue, repentance becomes impossible.

Consider the pattern:

“Pro-choice” instead of pro-death. Because who could be against choice? Yet the only one denied a choice is the child - and many choices were made beforehand.

“Affirming care” for what is, in reality, hormonal sterilization and surgical mutilation of minors.

“Marriage equality”—as though marriage were a mutable contract instead of a sacred covenant.

“Social justice”—which almost never means justice for the individual, but vengeance against those deemed privileged.

“Safe and legal” abortions—safe only for one of the two lives involved.

“Diversity and inclusion”—until you’re a Christian, a conservative, or someone who refuses to kneel before their idols.

The Devil loves moral inversion. He delights when virtue is branded cruelty and cruelty, compassion. It’s not enough for him to corrupt deeds; he must also corrupt words. Because once words lose their anchor in reality, the human conscience follows.

The modern Democratic Party cloaks nearly every policy in the garb of good intentions. They speak of saving the planet, but they mean centralizing power. They speak of compassion for migrants, but they mean dismantling borders. They speak of healthcare for all, but they mean bureaucratic control over your body and your doctor.

It’s a masterstroke of psychological manipulation: make people feel guilty for opposing evil by dressing it in virtue. “If you disagree,” they imply, “you must hate women, or the poor, or the earth itself.”

This is not politics—it is moral blackmail.

When language is corrupted, truth becomes heresy. When the state dictates what words may mean, the people become prisoners of speech. We are witnessing not an argument between two political parties, but a struggle between truth and illusion—between logos and chaos.

The early Christians knew this well. The devil was called the father of lies because lies are his native tongue. The Democrats’ endless parade of euphemisms—choice, inclusion, equity, sustainability—are not words of reason, but incantations meant to dull the conscience.

They no longer seek to persuade. They seek to numb.

Solzhenitsyn, who survived the Soviet machine of euphemism and propaganda, gave one piece of advice: “Live not by lies.” That begins with speech. Call things what they are. Abortion is the killing of an unborn child. “Equity” is discrimination repackaged. “Affirming care” is child abuse. “Climate justice” is authoritarian control.

Every lie loses power when you name it.

The Devil hides in euphemism, but he trembles at truth plainly spoken.

In the end, our battle is not merely political—it is linguistic, moral, and spiritual.

For as long as words are twisted, souls will be twisted with them. But when words are restored to truth, reality itself begins to heal.

Speak clearly. Speak courageously. Call sin what it is.

That is how one drives the serpent from the garden.
